This week and a new swap

Tuesday stitching with the girls this past week was a bit naughty when it came to the food....
Brownies, fresh cream cupcakes, melting moments and kit kats... Just terrible! We have no control. I am doing a bit of stitching..... S is for secret!!!

Also this week saw Sandi and I finally see the new Bridget Jones movie... We loved it and had a fantastic day mucking around.... A bit of fun at Spotlight, a yummy (albeit quick) lunch, lots of laughs watching the movie and a bit of clothes shopping afterwards.. It was so much fun.

ALSO our group is having it's last No Fuss swap for the year.... We've called it the "Bah Humbug Swap" and if you want to join in the fun.. you can find more details HERE.
We had a bit of fun with the "photography" shoot for the blog post as usual.
Have a great weekend!

About time for a blog post.....

I have lots to catch up on in blogging....  Tuesdays have been continuing with the girls and they are always fun days with lots of laughing, eating, sewing and catching up.... We take it in turns to bring morning tea and Norreen brought this pavlova beauty a few weeks ago.

The same Tuesday I finished another Lucy Boston block and

worked on a little Tilda stitchery.

I've also been working on a project for the By Hoki quilt group challenge... which is "Cats".

Happy mail recently included this gorgeous necklace, with 'wish' charm and tiny seed inside a glass dome.

The Tilda stitchery has been finished and I played around with some Tilda fabrics, lace and buttons to make a gift for someone special.

My youngest son has been working at our local school as a primary school teacher as part of his Uni studies. He's enjoying every second and I couldn't be prouder or happier. We celebrated his first day with a trip to a new Cafe, "Mondaze",  in town that specialises in Loaded Shakes.... My masterpiece was caramel, with chocolate and pretzels and a donut (and loads of cream!)

I have made a start on some Christmas decorations. I loved the idea of playing with patterned wool felt, vintage lace and buttons. These little vintage mittens were the result.

I have to admit that after uploading the first loaded shake I had with Jack on social media, I was forced to go again with my girlfriend Selina (this time was a chocolate, mint creation)......

And then the Tuesday girls forced me again for a third trip..... Back to the caramel!!!!

Love this photo of my eldest, James, and Tegan who are dressed to the nines for a Peaky Blinders party. They look so cool.
My niece celebrated her 21st and had the most wonderful photo taken with her sister and brothers and I just love it. They all look so happy in this pic.

So I've almost caught up to date with todays stitching....I am enjoying working on these gorgeous Eiffel Tower stitcheries. Two are for a table runner, and there is a third, but I haven't decided what to do with the single one.... yet.
Today was another great day for happy mail. I have been following Jennie from A Little Vintage for ages. She makes the most amazing brooches, bags, dolls, jewellery...you name it. I am now the proud owner of one of her works of art... well two actually. I bought this gorgeous clutch bag with Frida Kahlo on it. The detail is incredible.. Inside was a lovely surprise... one of Jennie's fabric embroidered cactus brooches... I was thrilled to bits.

Today was also opening day for our No Fuss Swappers latest swap "Road Trip". My partner Jan (Little Red Hen blog) sent to me and I love what she made and sent. The laundry bag is fantastic... so big and will be so handy. There was also a gorgeous french heart tag to put on my suitcase and it's already on my bag ready for the next trip. The fat quarter is gorgeous and two bags of treats which won't last long for sure. Thank you so much Jan... everything is perfect.

This is the laundry bag I made, luggage tag, fat quarter and treats I sent to my partner. Hope she likes them. Have a great week

Samara, Southbank and Snow White

My workmate, Samara, and I have had tickets for Snow White for months now and couldn't wait to see the show... we decided to make a day of it.... seeing as the Brisbane Festival was on, we both love food, the city and Southbank....

First we met James for lunch and once again he picked a wonderful place to eat. We went to the Red Hook and had a delicious meal.

City Hall was next on our list.... I love this gorgeous building.

Then it was back over the bridge and into Southbank.

We have both wanted to go to Nitrogenie and try the nitrogen icecream..... it was soooo good.

And of course, seeing as the Brisbane Festival was on, there were giant pink bunnies to be found.

Because of the show, Snow White, there were a few interactive displays... like the confessions booth, where you could confess or listen to others confessions...

Dinner was a place I've been to before and where I knew the pizzas were to die for... James Squires right next door to QPAC.

Then another interactive display was the :"Mirror, mirror on the wall...."

The show was absolutely fantastic. I would recommend you see it if you get the chance...

Such a fabulous day which didn't end after the show as Samara wanted to go back to the kids playground and have a go at the hamster wheel....
And the city was bathed in pink for the festival... everything looked amazing.
