I have finally caught up with Gail Pans Christmas stitchery (just in time for August when the next block comes out!!) I have really enjoyed doing this and there are only 2 more blocks to go.
My (blogless) friend, Laurel, and I went shopping at some lovely antique shops last week, and I was able to add to my blue willow collection. I also found this beautiful hand embroidered doily which looks just as good on the back as it does on the front. Someone has really done lovely work.

This is my latest quilt which I have made from Moda's Celebrate Spring fabrics. I bought the jelly roll and book 'Jelly Roll Quilts' from Tereasas shop and this has got to be one of the best quilt books I own. I have always loved this braid quilt and it was so nice and easy using the jelly roll. It went together really well and I am keen to make another one!!!

I can't believe it's August tomorrow... Christmas is coming so fast. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by, xx

Shed Party!!

On the weekend, Tereasa, Helen and I were invited to our blogless (& computerless!!) friend, Laurels, new shed warming arvo tea...Laurel has just had a new shed built on her lovely 50 acre block overlooking some gorgeous views. Some were a little put out that there was no toilet (!!) but the food was just too good to resist...sandwiches, apple bread and sour cream biscuits.. and of course a cuppa.

My on-line swap group has just finished it's Christmas Ornament Swap...It was a lot of fun and the on-line chat was even more fun!! My partner, Razzy, sent me a gorgeous Christmas cone full of berries and I just love it. It is so cute and had a lovely surprise inside!! Lindt favourite! Thanks so much Razzy for being my partner and sending such a lovely gift.

This is what I sent to my partner Sarah.. This is just what I needed to get motivated into making some early christmas presents..

Paper Bag Swap

Now that my partner, Roslyn, has opened her paper bag swap parcel, I can show you what I sent her. Roslyn sent me the floral and plain fabric, buttons, lace, ric rac and a doiley. I managed to use nearly all the fabric and most of the ric rac and lace...but the doiley was a bit of a challenge.
There was a bit of fabric left over..that's when the needle case came about. This was a fantastic swap and I really enjoyed the challenge. The presents I received from my swap partner were just wonderful and beautifully made. Thanks again Maree for organising the swap, and thanks again Roslyn for being my partner.

Paper Bag Swap

Look what I received in the Paper Bag Swap!! I absolutely LOVE my parcel of goodies!! Roslyn made the most beautiful embroidered bag - it is just gorgeous! And had goodies inside too! Everything has been made so beautifully and her work is perfect. Just look at the dolls face! The little pin cushion is clever and very useful...I can see me using this pincushion a just slips into the top of your thread!! So cool..

Thank you SO much Roslyn... I absolutely love everything...I can't believe how lucky I am and hope everyone is thrilled to bits with what they received as I am.

This has been a great swap and I want to thank Maree so much for organising the swap also. Think I have been very spoiled...xx

Christmas in July

Christmas has come early!! Just to get into the spirit a little I have finished some Christmas projects... The Bottle bag is a Janelle Wind pattern and has a lovely stitchery on the top. The punch needle christmas decorations are from the book "A Christmas Story" by Anni Downs and are quick and fun to make. There are 24 different designs for the decorations in the book and I am hoping to make a few more before Christmas.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend xx
