I almost missed Tuesday Treasures with Melody again today....
There are just not enough hours in the day... Anyway....
My mother in law gave me this gorgeous bracelet just before I married her son (my hubby!!), so I have had the bracelet for almost 26 years. The bracelet belonged to her mother and was handed down to her... so this makes the bracelet very, very precious to me, knowing that she wanted me to have it. I love it so much, but I'm also terrified I will lose it.
It has a safety chain on the back and I have actually had it open on me before, but luckily the safety catch did it's job. I wore it just last week to the Biggest Morning Tea. I am going to wear it more often as I just love it.
I also wanted to remind those who live in South East Queensland of the Bloggers Get Together this Sunday. We are meeting in the same place (The Grandview Hotel, Cleveland) and would love to know if you can make it... More information on Susan's blog and Marilyn's blog.
...or just leave a comment on this post and I will give you all the information you need
..Hope to see you there!

Lots of lovely things making me happy today...
Firstly, wonderful mail from my Mum..
As always, my Mum has sent me a gorgeous assortment of things she knows I will love.
More amazing quotes, written out beautifully on gorgeous french papers.... A beautiful notebook covered in pictures from Paris that she couldn't pass by without getting for me....and a wonderful little metal bell that belonged to my Great Aunt Jess.
My Auntie Jess gave this to my Mum years ago and Mum thought I would like it ... I DO... At first I thought it was a knitting needle gauge, but my husband thinks it is a standard wire gauge... although why my Aunt would have it in with her sewing things, I don't know. Anyway, we decided to get on the computer and google "standard wire gauge bell shape" and this amazing site came up. In the article I read...
"These bell-shaped knitting needle gauges originated in the Victorian era: 1847 to be precise. Bell gauges were specifically mentioned in some Victorian knitting patterns and are useful if you’re working from pre-1920s British knitting patterns as needle sizes were a little different then."
One of the bells pictured in the article is trademarked with the name Abel Morrall and this is the brand my little bell is. I'm thrilled to bits I know so much more about it now.
Thanks Mum... you knew I'd love it!
A trip up to Tamborine Mountain last week was also a great, happy day. Jack and I went up to search for a couple of Birthday presents and what better place to go to for something different.
As well as finding exactly what we were after in the present department... I found this gorgeous little English vintage thimble... with 2 hand painted butterflies on it (There is another one painted on the back).
And no trip to the Mountain would be complete without a yummy treat at the Spice of Life cafe.
Last Saturday night I was lucky enough to see Carl Barron's new comedy show on the Gold Coast. Such a funny, funny guy. It was a brilliant night and I laughed through the whole show. Definitely worth seeing the show even with the absolute chaos of driving through the Gold Coast traffic with the Blues Festival on the same night!! Thank goodness Hubby drove us down and dropped us off so I didn't have to attempt to find a carpark!!!
Also making me happy is my new set-top box winter cover!
Squeaky doing a great impersonation of a sloth!
Hope you are all having a wonderful Monday...
And an even better week....

I was lucky enough to get some sewing time this weekend and finished off a few projects.
This bag was this months Gift of the Month project from Faeries in My Garden. I knew as soon as the kit arrived last week that I wanted to make it straight away!!!
I was very intrigued when I saw the clasp and handles that went with the fabric to make the bag. I've never made a bag with these before.
However, the instructions were lovely and easy to follow and it went together really well.
I'm so happy with the way it turned out and the gorgeous fabric just makes the whole bag.
There are 2 little circles on the handles to attach a shoulder strap to, so I am now on the look out for a nice gold chain to finish it off.
Notice I showed you something pretty, before I showed you this very, very ugly photo??
Well this sad photo is of my ironing board which has been waiting for a long time to be recovered. I can't believe I let it get this bad. I wouldn't normally show such a terrible pic as this, but it makes a great "before and after" story.. he he...
I had this great piece of fabric in my stash, covered in bears quilting and sewing.
Now my ironing board is much happier and definitely easier to iron on. I also added a padded cover to the board before putting the new cover on.
I use this little board next to my sewing machine instead of lugging the big ironing board out every time I sew. It's wonderful and great for ironing all those fiddly little applique pieces and when I'm paper piecing.
I've finished off another block on "My Favourite Things" quilt. This is my wonky house... but then all the blocks are wonky and quirky.. that's why I love this quilt.
Lastly I'm sharing a photo I took this morning of our little town, very early this morning. I was taking Jack to work and the sun had just come up.. It's such a lovely time of the day.
Hope you have all had a wonderful weekend!

I am cramming a lot into today's post...but everything is linked and fits in perfectly... so it just seemed the right thing to do.
Firstly, my May Photo a Day Challenge....
Day 22 - Pink
This is a necklace I bought when my Nanna was battling breast cancer a few years ago. It's handmade and all the funds went to breast cancer research.
It seemed very fitting that today's photo challenge was pink, as today I went to a Biggest Morning Tea at my local cafe to raise funds for breast cancer research.
Which then lead me to today's Tuesday Treasures....
All those wonderful people out there that tirelessly raise funds for charities like Cancer Council Queensland.
My local cafe puts on a Biggest Morning Tea each year, as well as the Melbourne Cup High Tea, in November, which also raises money for Cancer Council.
Today we had High Tea (I was in heaven!!) and raffles to raise funds for such a worthwhile cause.
Time spent with wonderful friends......was an added bonus.
|Rhubard and strawberry meringues.... oh my!!!!!|
I am going to see who else is sharing their Tuesday Treasures today over at Melodys......
Hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday!

Making me happy this week is LOTS of things...
including my blog book for 2011 is finally here!
This is one of the reasons I blog... it's my diary and my journal of my life.. At the end of each year I have it printed up in a book to look at whenever I like... To remember where I was, who I was with and what I was up to.
My little quilts and latest tree is making me happy as I catch up with Melodys Penny Rug..
My gorgeous Eiffel Tower earrings made by the very clever Tatyana... Thank you soooooo much.. I also have another gorgeous pair with little birds on that match a necklace of mine... I am very spoilt!!!
Trying a new recipe from Vicki... and loving it....Apricot Chicken risotto.... delicious!!!!
Making stuffed, baked apples for dessert tonight. I haven't made these for years, and memories of making them in high school for Home Economics come flooding back to me... So easy and so tasty....
Sunset tonight was just beautiful... this makes me smile too.
Hope you're all having a wonderful Happy Monday!!Teresa xx
Day 21 - Where I stand.....
On the edge!!!
I was also tagged today to share 4 photos for 4 friends... this is a bit of fun I'm playing on my phone through Instagram...
This is the photo I shared....
Spring Lake, Springfield.
I'll be back later today....
Everything is happening very, very slowly today!

Friday Night Sew-In is always a great motivator to get some sewing and stitching done. I'm really pleased I managed to get quite a bit done on my Penny Rug by Melody last night.
I have finished the fence, bird houses and started on this months tree.
In my button collection I found a cute little black bird for the centre birdhouse.
All I have to do now (to finish this months section) is some Autumn leaves on the tree and make a little mini quilt hanging from a clothes line. I'm so pleased I've almost caught up.
This is my Penny Rug now.... quite a little village!
I'm loving this... thanks so much Melody...
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
