I love handmade....

A sweet little bag for me, made by Helen.

A little mini quilt I made for Leona, including some sweet little real feathers from her chooks

I have been making lots of vintage tags full of lace and ribbon and old buttons for my table at the Lets Get Stitched event this year. They can be used in the making of my sewing binder that the girls will get. I've also got some fabric fat quarters, satin fabric cup cakes and gorgeous variegated threads for sale.

This is a great little needle case I made from a free pattern by Lori holt.

A little bit of stitching

These are some beautiful vintage needlecases made by Julie Duncan...Two are for gifts, but it will be hard to part with them.

Three embroidered and sequined wool felt snowflakes for my Christmas wreath.

Natalie Bird Workshop

Today our Sunday Stitchers group got together for a much anticipated visit from Natalie Bird.
It was a fabulous day. Don't you just love Natalie's quilt behind her?
We had a choice of 2 gorgeous patterns and this is the one I chose to work on.
However I loved the second pattern very much and got that one too! (As you do!).
Along with a few gorgeous pieces of fabric. The cute little stitchery was another gift from Natalie.
Our day would not have been anywhere near as wonderful as it was without the tireless effort of our "fearless leader" Maree. She looks after us so well.
Maree cooked up a storm with cakes, muffins, (the best ever) chocolate brownies, cookies and cup cakes. She made our goody bags, name badges, organised the whole day, and raffles and prizes ... The list goes on.... Thank you so much Maree!
We got to stitch all day, eat delicious  food, chat with each other and Natalie and have the best day.
Poor Natalie, she had to endure quite a few photographs!!!
A few of us had "Natalie" show and tells, mostly bags and pin cushions and a quilt.
My progress at the end of the day.
And what a fabulous day it was!!!!

Warwick Part 3

Wednesday .... We decided to try another cafe/gift store in town. We visited  Warwick Gardens Galore and we were all impressed with the meals we chose. The food was incredible and we will definitely be adding this place to our "must visit" list when we come here again.
My lunch was so good I thought I'd better try the dessert as well.
It seems the gift shop was pretty good too! Noela, De, Jenny and Sandi looking very happy with their purchases.
Norreen spoilt us all with a gift from the shop. This lovely wind chime was for me.
Back to the workroom and more sewing. I made this Retro Rose Bag which I actually bought as a kit the last time I was in Warwick. It has a large ric rac bow on the front and a gorgeous red spot interior.
I just fell in love with the fabric.
I also found a lovely spot to photograph my Tilda hexie quilt.
Sandi finished her two zippered bags.
Jenny and Helen finished their dolls.
They are adorable!
And have the sweetest faces.
I just love them.
I've finished another "Postcards" block.
Susan's progress with her Quilty Christmas quilt.
De has put all her "T's" together and her quilt is gorgeous (and huge!!)
We polished off dinner (more leftovers!) and some french wine before hitting the sewing machines again.
De is working on her Quilt Diva (love this!)
And I've finished a Christmas UFO I've had for ages. The stitchery is now a red chenille cushion.
On our last morning we had our usual group photo at Glenrose. I've had so much fun with these girls over the last few days. It's been wonderful!!!
Susan was my lovely cabin buddy and that worked very well. We both like to stay up late and sew and no extreme early mornings for us. I loved your company Susan!!!
We couldn't leave without one more trip into town and Bryson's.
And another quilt shop. Sandi was getting comfortable checking out their fabrics.
Could we possibly be buying just one more thing???
Thank you girls for making this another wonderful retreat. I've loved every minute (yeah even the fat quarter fiasco!!!)
I don't know what I'd do without your company, the laughs, the friendships and the sheer exhaustion!!!! Miss you already!!
Until the next one.....

Warwick Part 2

Tuesday was definitely a full sewing day - no trips into town for afternoon tea or shopping today. I am working on my "Postcards from Paris" quilt.
De is working on her "T" quilt. Wonder if it's for me????
My table buddies on this retreat are Norreen and
I am also working on a secret project today, so no full photos of that one, but it's also using gorgeous Tilda fabrics.
The girls are excited for lunch!!! Cannot believe how much food we have all brought. Leftovers will last us for the rest of the week.
After lunch Sandi and I decided to go for a walk and check out the gardens. How lovely are our cabins and surroundings here?
Love these chairs...
Just a few photos of the roses ....
They are beautiful....
Every colour...,.
And lovely scent.
Okay....back to sewing. Noela and her beautiful stars.
Norreen's French General beauty.
The lovely owners of Glenrose dropped off some moscato and nibbles as well as a gift of fabric. We are totally spoilt here!
I've finished another "Postcards" block.
After working on their dolls, Jenny and Helen are working on hexies. Not just ordinary hexies either.
And while we were sleeping that night - the dolls played up. This is what we found the next morning. Not a drop of wine left in the place! Disgraceful!!!!
