Antique Shopping

I had a lovely day today going antique and op shopping with a friend who loves doing this as much as I do. They're the best kind of friends!
We decided to go to the Gold Coast and investigate the shops down there. We found lots of bargains and it's hard to resist a bargain. I also was very happy to find some lovely antique pieces.
I just love this bowl. It's quite large too.
A sweet pale green jug.
Pale pink cup, saucer and plate set with gold edges. I'm going to enjoy my tea in this delicate cup.
As well as this lovely blue and white set. There were also some lovely scarves and doilies - we were smitten with the prices!!!
Very happy with my haul of goodies. Such a fun, happy day spent with even lovelier company.
Hope you're having a great week!

PS Just had to show you some of the things Leona bought today too....
Cute-as lady beetle outfit for ADDison ! I knew she'd get that look on her face!
Polly wearing the same outfit. Now I'm not sure who wears it better!
And a super lovely little cow milk jug (oh and those cups and saucers in the background!). I'm expecting it to be on the table next time we have a cuppa.
We sure did have a great day!!!

Tuesday Stitching and Quilty News

Today at Tuesday Stitching ....A bit of fun.....
Sending messages to Shez via Instagram!
Yummy food!
Helen making us all perfect cappuccinos! Baked veges and mandarin cake.
And another row finished on my Trip Around the World quilt. I'm still behind though!
On the weekend Helen and I put a couple of quilts in the Mt Gravatt show. It was the shows 100th year. I'm thrilled to say Helen got 2nd place with her gorgeous quilt. This is Libby Richardson's Mystery Block of the Month quilt.  Helen has done beautiful work on this quilt. She is a perfectionist.
I entered my Gossip in the Garden quilt by Anni Downs ... no place but it's a good chance to get a full photo while its up on the wall.
I also entered my little art quilt "Rain" and was very happy to get a " Highly Commended" award.
The quilt on the left won first prize and the quilt on the right won "Best of Show". They were stunning quilts.
Hope you have a lovely week!

Color Run

Yesterday I got to participate in something I've wanted to do for ages. The Color Run!
Lauren, Tori, me and Jack.... I'm so happy I went with these guys. They truly made the day ..... From Jack playing us songs all the way to the Coast in the early hours with songs that had the word "colour" or "run" in them to get a positive vibe going.... Through the entire course getting painted and coloured.... To having photos together, to the concert at the end, we shared the whole experience. And it was so much FUN!
We went to the one on at Robina on the Gold Cosst. How lovely and clean do we look at the beginning? I've heard that these events are a lot of fun - but I had NO idea just how much fun!!!
There were thousands of us there.
Love this pic of Jack. We've just started the "happiest 5k" and you can see our first "paint" section.  Can you see the purple cloud in the distance? Oh yeah!
Getting a little more colourful!
My favourite "colour" section was actually the "white" one!!!! The snow zone was all white foam and it was great!
We made it!!! After the 5ks there's a fantastic Final Festival.... And that means more colour!
Did I tell you we had fun????
There are so many photos,  but I'll add them here over the next few days.
They call it the Happiest 5k and that's a perfect name for it.
This has been one crazy, full on, wonderful weekend!

A Day of Surprises

We had a wonderful day today organised by Susan (Susan's Sewing Space blog) for us to meet Holly (Nimble Thimble - Stitchery Do blog) who is visiting all the way from Canada.
We all met up at the Full Moon Hotel at Sandgate for lunch.
One lovely surprise was having Michelle Ridgway there - along with her brand new book "A Holly Cottage Christmas". Which was perfect as I needed to pick up my copy!
Second lovely surprise was Chookyblue was there!!!! OMG it was so good to see you!
Third surprise (and I DIDN'T know this one!!!) was Lynette Anderson was there too.  Lots of ladies from our Sunday Stitching group were there as well as the Tuesday Girls. What a fabulous day!!!!
Lots of book signing....
More mini quilts were swapped. The lovely Susan (who organised today) with her gorgeous mini made for her by Lynda.
How good is this photo Lynette took of us all? Not an easy task!
More surprises! It was like Christmas! Gorgeous cards from Chooky (which are too lovely to part with so I'm going to send them to myself lol!!!!) and how lucky are we?....... A charm pack of Lynette's new fabric range! It's beautiful!! Doing a happy dance!!!
Michelle with her quilt from her new book. It's even more beautiful in real life!
Still pinching myself I got to spend the day with all these amazing ladies and catch up with so many dear friends.
Lots of show and tell going around the table. I wish I'd taken more photos. There were lots of blocks from "Natures Journey" and lots of Goody Goody Binding kits too.
Thank you so much to Susan for organising today and a huge thank you to everyone who came and made this a fabulous day..... Wonderful to have Holly, Lynette, Chooky and Michelle with all of us.

A quick trip to the Quilters Store beforehand. Scored some lovely Christmas fabrics (it's not too early!!) and a cute as macaron tape measure. It had my name all over it!
Breakfast/morning tea at a cafe up the road from the restaurant. Couldn't help myself!
Lunch at the Full Moon... Mmmmmm
