Always lots of things to do, places to go, people to see in the lead up to Christmas.
Dinner with Gemma and Morgan before Gemma travels back home to Spain. Going to miss this gorgeous girl. I had some of the best sushi ever that night. Great little Japanese restaurant that I definitely want to visit again!
Photos from my niece who has just moved to London. What a life they are leading!
Little Will and Santa, London.
Lunch with my husband and youngest son on the Gold Coast. I had a craving for Mexican!
Just love the tiles on the table. Lots of quilt block inspiration here!
Christmas tree and decorations, Gold Coast style!
Enjoying my new book so much!
Another trip to the Coast, this time to see Star Wars (second time for me and I loved it again!).
My husband insisted I get my photo taken with the storm trooper. I think it's because I told him he never takes any photos! Serves me right! I hate getting my pic taken!
A quick trip to the beach just before the sun went down and then dinner at the Surf Club with our friend, Huthy.
Love these spur of the moment trips. The sea breeze and sound of the waves always makes me wish I lived at the beach.
2015 has been a wonderful year. So many great memories.
My poor partner in the Friends in Stitching Christmas swap was my very own partner in crime, Helen. I was so excited at first, when I found out it was Helen, because I knew exactly what I was going to get her. She had been looking at a felt tree skirt and had almost bought it for herself. I decided that was what I was going to get for her. This is where I made a huge mistake. I should have given her the whole kit, as it was..... With the felt, and threads, sequins and beads .... and let her make it herself!!!! But nooooooo! I thought I'd make it for her. I had absolutely no idea how long it was going to take and so I failed. BIG TIME!
By the time I realized I didn't have any chance of finishing it in time for Christmas, I didn't have enough time to start something else. Poor Helen. I can't believe I gave her an unfinished gift. Huge failure.
I managed to get the main centerpiece finished but there are more (many more) lollies to be made and attached to the skirt.
Every piece is embroidered, sequined, beaded and appliquéd. I will never make another one of these again!!! But I will finish this one. I feel so bad Helen!!!!
These are the other gifts I gave in the swap and I did manage to finish the stocking!!!!
My boys!!! Had a lovely Christmas Day starting with the boys coming over for breakfast and some present opening.
Then it was over to the in-laws for lunch. Jack brought his puppy over and his grandfather (my father-in-law) just loved him. His dog was a little put out that his usual comfortable seat on his owners lap was taken by this newcomer though.
My mother-in-law makes a killer trifle!!!
This is my gorgeous niece playing the hilarious game of pie face. If you've never heard of it, you should definitely seek it out. I haven't laughed so much!!!!
There are now many videos of everyone getting smacked in the face by the whipped cream "pies". Just hilarious!
The games continued for hours. My 3 playing cards,
James teaching the little ones to play "Get Rich Quick". Another great game I'd never heard about and lots of fun.
Hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas.
PS Boxing Day photos....
Brock and Kylie were up from Melbourne.
My gorgeous nieces...Maddi ....
The littlies Christmas table ... Lockie, Haylee and Matilda.
First time I've met little Matilda. She's a cutie.
I was very lucky to receive some very thoughtful Christmas presents this year.
Panda pandora charm from Jack. I love this, it's so cute. Memory of our trip to Adelaide and seeing the pandas at the zoo. I also got a little postcard from Paris charm from Tori. Very special when the charms hold precious memories and meanings.
Spoilt from James - I just love this book "and the hippos were boiled in their tanks" It's been hard not to start this as I am in the middle of another book, but Christmas Day found me picking it up over and over again! Some very yummy chocolates from the Noosa chocolate factory (including chocolate coated coffee beans!!!) and two delicious smelling bath bombs from Lush.
There was also a wonderful present from Narelle - full of some gorgeous vintage, lacey loveliness.
Can you believe it's only 2 sleeps until Christmas!!!!!
Yesterday was our last Tuesday stitching for 2015 and we even managed a bit of stitching amongst the eating, laughing and chatting.
I have finally finished my Christmas quilt from last year. It's a Lori Holt design. The top was finished last year and I have just had it quilted by the lovely Sarah of Patchworks Plus. Thank you for the photo Helen.
Sarah did a fabulous job!
I don't think I'll be changing the date on the label!!!!
This photo was taken last year when I finished the top.
