White Rock and Spring Mountain Conservation Park.

My husband is one of those spur of the moment people. A good example of this is when he decided all of us (including our boys) would go to Europe. We left Australia to do this 10 days later. No joke!  So I've learned how to drop everything and pack quickly and I don't stress too much with these sort of decisions he makes. I just go with the flow. Anyhow, this decision wasn't as huge as Europe but it was a lovely spur of the moment decision nonetheless.

Not too far from where we live are some gorgeous bushwalks and views. This is the first time we've been to White Rock.

We will be back though as its lovely and there are a few more walks we'd like to do.

Next time though I would pack more sensible shoes and some water. Just in case he does this again!!!

This week....

Loved this block in the splendid sampler sew along.
Some secret sewing with old tea dyed laces, porcelain buttons and pretty fabrics.
Happy mail from Somerset Patchwork. 19th century fabric samplings.
These photos just make me smile.
Jack and Captain playing catch with a tennis ball. Bit of an action shot this one.
This photo just cracks me up!
Have a lovely day!

Tuesday

I had a great day with the girls today.  There were no road trips or ducking out to watch a cheese making demo. Just all of us together, stitching, chatting and laughing. Just what I needed.
We started on a high note with an ice cream dessert for morning tea (well actually it was my breakfast!!!). We tried a new salted caramel ice cream. It was pretty darn good too.
I finally finished block 19 of the splendid sampler sew along as well as some more stitching on my Gail Pan Christmas stitchery.
Such a great day with the girls and there were lots of laughs. In fact one of Helens stories made us laugh so much we were almost crying. It was a good day!
This evening my hubby and I went into the city to see our eldest boy. The Victoria bridge, Story bridge and casino are all beautifully lit up in all the colors of the rainbow. They looked amazing.
On the way home we stopped at Pepe's Mexican restaurant for a wonderful dinner. We love this place and have been going there for over 20 years. I think I've always ordered the same meal too. They have the best taquitos.
Have a great week!

Needle Keepers

These were so quick and easy to make....
Found a great little tutorial over at Shabby Art Boutique to make these needle keepers.
So quick and easy and so handy to put in with all my different projects I have on the go at the moment.
Would make a nice little gift too.
You can find the tutorial for these and so many other beautiful things HERE.
Today I was lucky enough to be invited to one of Jack's lectures at Uni. It was on Education and Society and was very interesting. Plus I got to check out his uni and teachers. I really enjoyed it and so pleased I was able to attend.
A bit of lunch was also on the cards.....
Have a great day

Had the loveliest night tonight with my youngest son. Mother's Day continued with a movie and dessert at San Churros.
We saw the Jungle Book and it was fantastic. Even better than I thought it would be. Bill Murray was so good as Baloo.
Then churros and a hot chocolate mmmmm.  How great are their serviettes?

Cheese Making

Tuesday stitching with the girls started off like normal .....
With a few extra visitors at Helens place.
But then Sandi and I went to a cheese making demo at our local library.
Green Living Australia showed how to make mozzarella and they literally made it in 30 minutes. It was so interesting and fun AND it was absolutely delicious.
Valerie was just lovely and a mountain of knowledge and expertise. This was just a snippet of what you can learn through her and Green Living. Today has really made me keen to do more workshops and learn more. So glad we decided to go to this demo.
Did I mention it was delicious!!! Lol!!!
Thanks Sandi for going to this with me ...... Let's do it again!!!!!

Mothers Day

Hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day yesterday. I was taken out for breakfast at Journey. We decided to go there after seeing the amazing new additions to their menu - specially for Mother's Day.
Two new drinks the "mother load" and "step mum". Yum!
It was delicious!!! Nutella ice cream, Turkish delight and flake chocolate and marshmallows.
Definitely needed something savory after that sugar hit!!!!
My boy Jack.
Had to settle for a phone call from my boy James. Just love this photo he posted of him in Sydney.
My gorgeous mum who is still traveling around Australia in her bus ....
But she was close enough to my brother who made sure she had a wonderful day.
